Couldnt Lock File SHARE.EXE hasnt been loaded (See Error 3050) The MS Access database is located on read-only share or network drive. Visual Basic tries to connect to a MS Access database, an .ldb file is created for the existing database and is used for the management of the file locking mechanism with multiple users.
Possible corrective actions (effective 12-10-96 version 1.12-builds 543/544):
1) Make sure all users have read/write access to the directory (TNGSVR) - read/write access is essential for the .ldb file to properly operate.
2) For Novell networks, you may need to grant the create permission rights which might become necessary if the .ldb has been deleted so it can be recreated. The create permission may not be needed all the time; however, if this does not interfere with your security system, you should consider assigning this permission permanently.
3) If permissions are correct, some clients have found that putting the share.exe in their config.sys file corrected the problem (even though the share.exe was already implemented via the network).
