AS 38.05.110. Sale of Timber and Materials; Account.

(a) The commissioner shall provide for cruises of timber and appraisals of other materials in or upon state land and shall assess the supply of and current markets for timber on and other materials in privately owned land in close proximity to state land to determine

(1) the timber and other materials that should be offered for sale; and

(2) the terms of sale of the timber or other materials.

(b) The timber receipts account is established in the state treasury. The revenue from the sale of timber from state lands shall be deposited in the timber receipts account. The legislature may appropriate money deposited into the timber receipts account for implementation of the state timber disposal program by the department or for any other public purpose.
