Alaska Redistricting:
These are maps were generated from the plan adopted on a three to two vote by the Alaska Redistricting Board on June 10, 2001. The Board staff is still working on technical review of all district lines. The official map will be released by the Board with the proclamation on June 18, 2001.
This plan incorporates the Neighborhood Plan submitted to the Board by Anchorage Assembly members, a plan submitted by citizens in Fairbanks, contributions from the Tanana Chiefs Conference regarding the large rural Interior villages district, the input of innumerable participants in the Alaskans for Fair Redistricting work, and the comments of hundreds of members of the public who took the time to submit testimony or appear at hearings.
