(a) The council acquires a work of art by purchase
(1) directly from an artist after selection from artist slide review; or
(2) from a juried exhibition in Alaska.
(b) The council may not acquire a work of art
(1) unless acquisition of the work of art has been approved by an art advisory committee selected by the council; or
(2) recommended for acquisition by the art advisory committee if the work of art to be acquired was created by a person serving as a member of the art advisory committee.
