Section 240. Purpose

20 AAC 30.240. Purpose

The purpose of the individual fellowship grant is to recognize and assist residents of the state who are practicing artists of exceptional talent in the performing, literary, visual, and media arts as well as arts education. The council will not award an individual fellowship grant unless the individual

(1) is pursuing an art form on an ongoing basis as a means of livelihood or at the highest level of professional experience in the individual's field;

(2) has a high degree of peer acceptance as an

(A) emerging artist of outstanding promise; or

(B) established artist with a body of work; or

(3) is an arts educator recognized by peers as a leader.
