(a) The commission staff shall distribute available grant money to schools for certified grant applicants.
(b) The commission will distribute grant money to the schools on or after June 15, according to school requests for disbursement, for programs that start July 1 or later in that school year.
(c) A school will disburse grant awards in accordance with the applicable provisions of 34 C.F.R. 668.164.
(d) An accelerated program of study may have accelerated award eligibility if accelerated study is a requirement of the program in which the student is enrolled. For purposes of this subsection, "accelerated program of study" means a program of study in which the student is required, as a condition of the program, to complete more than one academic year per calendar year of attendance.
(e) If a student becomes eligible for a refund in excess of $50 or it is determined that the student is overawarded in excess of $50, the school shall, within 30 days after the date that the overaward was noted or the student became eligible for a refund, make any refund or return of grant monies to the commission.
(f) Grant awards not disbursed within 30 days after the disbursement date by the school will be canceled and made available to other eligible applicants according to the priority ranking set out in 20 AAC 16.034. If grant money exceeds eligible applicant need for that year, grant money will be held and made available for making awards in the next academic year.
