(a) The commission will award points to an applicant for past participation in, and economic dependence on, the Southeast sea urchin dive fishery. The applicant will be awarded points based on the total poundage of sea urchins that the applicant commercially harvested during the time period from January 1, 1984 through July 1, 1996, according to the following:
Total Pounds Commercially Harvested During Points January 1, 1984 - July 1, 1996
At least 25,000 pounds 7 At least 10,000 pounds, but less than 25,000 pounds 6 At least 1,000 pounds, but less than 10,000 pounds 5 At least 500 pounds, but less than 1,000 pounds 4 At least 250 pounds, but less than 500 pounds 3 At least 30 pounds, but less than 250 pounds 2 Less than 30 pounds 1
(b) In this section, "commercially harvested" means the taking and selling of sea urchins in the manner that the commission considers as "commercially harvested" under 20 AAC 05.818.
