(a) The commission will award a maximum of 24 points to an applicant for past participation in, and economic dependence on, the Southeastern Alaska geoduck clam dive fishery. An applicant who commercially harvested geoduck clams from the fishery during the January 1, 1992, to July 1, 1996 time period will be awarded points for the years in which they participated according to the poundage thresholds established for each year as follows:
1995 to 400 pounds or more 10 July 1, 1996 At least 100 pounds, but less than 400 pounds 7 Less than 100 pounds 3 1994 800 pounds or more 9 At least 400 pounds, but less than 800 pounds 6 Less than 400 pounds 3 1993 2700 pounds or more 8 At least 1,200 pounds, but less than 2,700 pounds 5 Less than 1,200 pounds 3 1992 5,200 pounds or more 7 At least 2,200 pounds, but less than 5,200 pounds 5 Less than 2,200 pounds 2
(b) In this section,
(1) "commercially harvested" means the taking and selling of geoduck clams in the manner consistent with 20 AAC 05.806;
(2) "pounds" means actual pounds of whole geoduck clams recorded on fish tickets.
