20 AAC 05.310. Other designated fisheries

(a) The commission designates the following salmon fisheries as those that have reached levels of participation that require the limitation of entry:

(1) Southeastern Alaska (A) purse seine fishery (2) Yakutat (D) set gillnet fishery (3) Prince William Sound (E) purse seine fishery set gillnet fishery (4) Cook Inlet (H) purse seine fishery* (5) Kodiak (K) beach seine fishery set gillnet fishery (6) Chignik (L) purse seine fishery (7) Alaska Peninsula-Aleutian Islands (M) purse seine fishery* set gillnet fishery (8) Statewide (B) power troll fishery hand troll fishery (9) Kuskokwim (W) gillnet fishery** (10) Kotzebue (X) gillnet fishery** (11) Lower Yukon (Y) gillnet fishery** (12) Upper Yukon (P)*** gillnet fishery** fish wheel fishery (13) Norton Sound (Z) gillnet fishery** *In areas H and M, the purse seine fishery includes the beach seine fishery. **In areas W, X, Y, P, and Z, the gillnet fishery includes both set and drift net fisheries. ***In area P, the gillnet and fish wheel fisheries include gear authorized by the Alaska Board of Fisheries for the Anvik River chum salmon fishery. (b) As used in 20 AAC 05.300 - 20 AAC 05.320, "power troll" means the taking of a salmon fishery resource with troll lines operated by nonmanual gurdys. (c) The commission designates the following roe herring fisheries as those which have reached levels of participation which require the limitation of entry: (1) Southeastern Alaska (A) purse seine fishery (2) Prince William Sound (E) purse seine fishery gillnet fishery* (3) Kodiak (K) purse seine fishery gillnet fishery* *In areas E and K, the roe herring gillnet fishery includes the set gillnet and drift gillnet fisheries. (d) The commission designates the following combined roe herring and herring fisheries as those that have reached levels of participation that require the limitation of entry: (1) Cook Inlet (H) purse seine fishery (2) Southeastern Alaska (A) gillnet fishery* (3) Nelson Island (N) gillnet fishery (4) Lower Yukon (Cape Romanzof) (Y) gillnet fishery (5) Norton Sound (Z) beach seine fishery gillnet fishery (6) Nunivak Island (U) gillnet fishery (7) Goodnews Bay (W) gillnet fishery *In area A, the herring gillnet fishery includes the set gillnet and the drift gillnet fisheries. (e) The commission designates the following crab fisheries as those that have reached levels of participation that require the limitation of entry: (1) Southeastern Alaska (A) red and blue king crab pot fishery brown king crab pot fishery Tanner crab pot fishery Dungeness crab pot fishery Dungeness crab ring net fishery Dungeness crab diving gear fishery (2) Cook Inlet (H) Dungeness crab pot fishery Dungeness crab ring net fishery (3) Kodiak (K) bairdi Tanner crab pot fishery (f) The commission designates the following sablefish fisheries as those that have reached levels of participation that require the limitation of entry: (1) Northern Southeast Inside (A) longline fishery (2) Southern Southeast Inside (C) longline fishery pot fishery (3) Prince William Sound (E) fixed gear fishery pot gear fishery net gear fishery

(g) The commission designates the following herring spawn-on-kelp pound fisheries as those that have reached levels of participation that require the limitation of entry:

(1) Northern Southeast (A)

(2) Southern Southeast (C)

(3) Prince William Sound (E)

(h) The commission designates the Bristol Bay (Togiak) (T) herring spawn on kelp fishery as one that has reached a level of participation that requires the limitation of entry.

(i) The commission designates the Southeastern Alaska (A) shrimp pot, beam trawl, and otter trawl fisheries as fisheries that have reached levels of participation that require the limitation of entry.

(j) The commission designates the Southeastern Alaska (A) geoduck clam dive fishery as one that has reached a level of participation that requires the limitation of entry.

(k) The commission designates the Southeastern Alaska (A) sea cucumber dive fishery as one that has reached a level of participation that requires the limitation of entry.

( l ) The commission designates the Southeastern Alaska (A) sea urchin dive fishery as one that has reached a level of participation that requires the limitation of entry.

(m) The commission designates the Kodiak (K) food and bait herring gillnet and seine combined fishery as one that has reached a level of participation that requires the limitation of entry.

(n) The commission designates the Kodiak (K) food and bait herring trawl fishery as one that has reached a level of participation that requires the limitation of entry.
