20 AAC 05.1952. Area reregistration of salmon net fishing vessel

(a) If the owner of a salmon net fishing vessel, or his or her authorized agent, desires to reregister the vessel for a different salmon net registration area as provided in 5 AAC 39.120, he or she will be issued a new vessel license area tab for the area of registration and a new vessel license receipt card displaying that area, upon receipt by the commission of

(1) a properly completed Commercial Vessel Salmon Net Area Registration form supplied by the commission, and

(2) any vessel license area tabs and receipt cards previously issued to the vessel by the commission for that year, and either

(A) a written certification or personal affidavit stating that the vessel has not been used for salmon net fishing in the original area of registration, or

(B) an authorization from the commissioner of the Department of Fish and Game, or the commissioner's designee stating that the vessel has been lost through sinking, destruction, or extensive mechanical breakdown, or that the vessel operator has suffered serious injury, sickness, or death during open season.

(b) Reregistration under (a)(2)(A) of this section may occur only once each calendar year unless this limitation is waived by the commission for good cause.
