(a) The commission will conduct investigations for the purpose of determining compliance with AS 16.43 and regulations adopted by the commission. The scope of investigation is limited to information and material reasonably related to carrying out that purpose. Investigations will be conducted in conformity with state and federal laws.
(b) The commission will issue any subpoenas or subpoenas duces tecum necessary to compel production of testimony or evidence reasonably related to the purpose of an investigation.
(c) Based on the findings and recommendation of the investigator, the commission will, in its discretion, initiate a show cause proceeding under AS 16.43.960 , a fee-arrearage collection under 20 AAC 05.1805(b)(2), or an administrative error proceeding under 20 AAC 05.1805(d).
