If a vessel qualifying under AS 16.43.901 is sunk, destroyed, or damaged to the extent the vessel is inoperable, the vessel owner may request the vessel permit be reissued to another vessel whose overall length does not exceed the overall length of the qualifying vessel. The replacement vessel can be a vessel that is leased or owned by the qualifying vessel owner.
