Section 1905. Recordkeeping requirements

18 AAC 80.1905. Recordkeeping requirements

The owner or operator subject to the requirements of this chapter shall retain on the public water system premises, or at a convenient location near the premises, the following records in the following manner:

(1) records of bacteriological analyses made under this chapter must be kept for at least five years; records of chemical analyses made under this chapter must be kept for at least 10 years; to meet the requirements of this paragraph, actual laboratory reports may be kept or data may be transferred to tabular summaries if the following information is included:

(A) the date, place, and time of sampling, and the name of the individual who collected the sample;

(B) identification of the sample as to whether it was a routine distribution system sample, repeat sample, raw or process water sample, or other special purpose sample;

(C) the date and time that the sample was received and analyzed;

(D) the laboratory and the laboratory employee responsible for performing the analysis;

(E) the analytical technique or method used; and

(F) the results of the analysis;

(2) records of action taken by the owner or operator to correct violations of this chapter must be kept for at least three years after the last action taken with respect to the particular violation involved;

(3) copies of written reports, summaries, or communications relating to sanitary surveys of the public water system conducted by the owner or operator, by a private consultant, or by a local, state, or federal agency must be kept for at least 10 years after completion of the sanitary survey involved; and

(4) records concerning a variance granted under 18 AAC 80.370 or 18 AAC 80.371 or an exemption granted under 18 AAC 80.375 to the public water system must be kept for a period ending not less than five years after the expiration of the variance or exemption.
