In 18 AAC 30.800 - 18 AAC 30.890, unless the context requires otherwise
(1) "adult" means a person 18 years of age or older;
(2) "adult residential care facility" means a facility which provides 24-hour care to one or more adult residents, who, because of age, infirmities, advanced pregnancy, or handicap, require accommodations and care on a continuous basis;
(3) "day care center" means
(A) a facility, other than an occupied residence, in which care is regularly provided for children; or
(B) an occupied residence in which care is regularly provided for 11 or more children, some of whom do not live in the home but are received for day care, regardless of whether they are related to the operator;
(4) "facility" means an operation which provides day care, pre-elementary education, residential child care, or adult residential care;
(5) "impaired judgment" means a subnormal mental condition or a mental condition caused by deterioration of
(A) the mental or intellectual process of forming an opinion; or
(B) the evaluation process;
(6) "infant" means a child from birth to 12 months;
(7) "occupant" means a person who provides or receives services in a facility;
(8) "physically handicapped person" means a person who
(A) is not ambulatory or who is ambulatory only with the aid of an appliance or medical device; or
(B) is physically incapable of walking a normal path to safety, including the ascent and descent of stairs;
(9) "pre-elementary school facility" means a facility, the primary function of which is educational, for children aged three through five years;
(10) "resident" means a person who receives services in a facility;
(11) "residential child care facility" means a facility providing care on a 24-hour basis for children who are not related by blood, marriage, or legal adoption to the owners or operators of the facility, and includes group homes and institutions; and
(12) "toddler" means a child aged 12 months to 24 months.
