A registered service provider shall submit to the director upon request, for examination and certification, any standards and testing equipment that are used, or are to be used, in the performance of the service and testing functions with respect to weighing and measuring devices that the registrant services. The director shall establish a periodic schedule of certification of standards and test equipment. A registered service provider may not use any standards or testing equipment that have not been certified by the director. Standards or testing equipment calibrated and certified by another state weights and measures laboratory that meet the requirements of the NIST will be recognized as equipment suitable for use by a registered service provider in the state.
