Section 930. Permits for existing signs

17 AAC 60.930. Permits for existing signs

(a) The department will issue a sign permit to a person who, on May 18, 1997, maintained a sign acknowledged by the department in a state right-of-way if the sign meets the requirements of this chapter. In recognition of the public interest in maintaining these existing signs, the department will waive the fee for the permit. The permit expires and may be renewed as provided in this chapter. The permit holder shall manage the tourist sign as required by this chapter.

(b) Subsection (a) of this section is repealed January 1, 2002.
