The expenditure of funds for search and rescue parties will be made by the department only if
(1) the department is notified that a person is lost, injured, killed, or in need of immediate rescue, and authorization for a search and rescue party for the purpose of rescuing or retrieving the person or his remains is given by the commissioner or his designee before the expenditure; or
(2) repealed 5/22/81.
