When operating a school bus transporting a child to or from school or a school activity, a driver of a school bus shall have in the driver's immediate possession the driver's school bus driver permit, and the driver's regular driver's license. Upon the request of a police officer, the driver of a school bus shall display, and temporarily give to the police officer for examination, the driver's school bus driver permit.
