A driver or owner of a vehicle cited under 13 AAC 04.007, other than a commercial motor vehicle as defined in AS 28.32.900 , may, at any time before the specified date for court appearance, appear at an Alaska State Trooper office, the office of the police agency that conducted the inspection, or an official inspection station, and present evidence of having made the required repairs or adjustments, or present the vehicle for reinspection. If the defective part or item is found to be in good repair and adjustment, and the vehicle otherwise meets the requirements of this chapter and AS 28, the inspection officer or official shall void the citation and notify the court of the action taken.
