A mechanical administrator may not supervise the original installation of control wiring, or the alteration or retrofitting of controls or control wiring that alters the electrical characteristics of the mechanical system, unless that mechanical administrator is also licensed as an electrical administrator in the appropriate category under AS 08.40 and 12 AAC 32. Nothing in this section limits the authority or responsibility of a mechanical administrator to ensure that the controls being installed or modified by a contractor or an electrical administrator properly function as an integral part of the mechanical system.
