(a) An applicant for registration as a professional engineer who has not passed the fundamentals of engineering examination need not take that examination if satisfactory evidence is submitted to the board to verify 20 years of professional experience.
(b) An applicant for registration by examination in any branch of engineering who holds a valid registration in another branch of engineering meeting this state's requirements will not be required to take the fundamentals of engineering examination. An applicant for registration by comity who otherwise meets the requirements of this section is not required to demonstrate having passed the fundamentals of engineering examination.
