An individual commissioned as a special inspector shall obtain an identification card issued by the department. The identification card, issued for a one-year period, must be carried at all times when performing inspections within the state. An identification card may be obtained in person at the Anchorage office of the department. Arrangements may be made in advance to obtain the identification card at any other office of the department by contacting the Anchorage office. The identification card must be returned to the department upon termination of employment.
