(a) The division shall disclose appropriate information to representatives of a federal, state, or local law enforcement agency
(1) when requested by the law enforcement agency for a purpose specified in AS 47.12.310 (b)(2)(E);
(2) when the division is seeking assistance from law enforcement officers for assistance in
(A) obtaining physical custody of a juvenile;
(B) the conduct of its own investigation of harm to a juvenile;
(C) protection of the safety of the juvenile or the public.
(b) When a court order is issued directing the division to disclose information not otherwise disclosable under AS 47.12 and this chapter to a law enforcement or criminal justice agency, the division shall inform the court of the statutes and regulations concerning confidentiality and ask the court to rule on disclosability before the division discloses the information.
