(a) An individual is eligible for assistance under 7 AAC 47.800 - 7 AAC 47.890 if the individual has total resources at the time of application that do not exceed the following amounts:
(1) for an individual, $4,000;
(2) for an individual and spouse who are living together, $6,000.
(b) In determining resources under this section, the department will count only resources that are considered
(1) liquid resources as defined under 20 C.F.R. 416.1201(b), as revised as of April 1, 2002 and adopted by reference; and
(2) legally available to the individual to meet the individual's basic needs.
(c) In determining resources under this section, the department will not count up to $1,500 of money set aside for the burial of an eligible individual and up to $1,500 of money set aside for the burial of the eligible individual's spouse.
