7 AAC 43.375. Standard hospital services

(a) Daily hospital service includes room, linen service, meals, special diets, general nursing service, medical records and admitting service, use of ordinary hospital equipment and instruments, routine treatments, routine drugs, and routine supplies.

(b) Drugs prescribed by the attending physician are charged separately.

(c) Central service includes the cost of supplies and the cost of preparing, handling, and storing supplies. There may be a separate charge for treatment trays, dressings, and use of equipment as ordered by the attending physician.

(d) The charge for operating room service is based on amount of time the patient is in the operating room, type of operation, services of operating room personnel, and surgical supplies. Anesthesia and recovery room services are charged separately.

(e) The rate charged for normal delivery or cesarean section includes services of technical personnel, ordinary hospital equipment, and routine supplies.

(f) X-ray, laboratory, physical and occupational therapy, electroencephalography, electrocardiography, and professional ancillary services and fees charged are normally based upon the type or kind of service performed.

(g) Personal services not normally associated with hospital care, such as long distance telephone calls, television rental, guest meals and personal items, are the responsibility of the recipient and are not hospital services covered by the division under Medicaid.
