7 AAC 43.121. Low osmolar contrast material

The division will not separately reimburse for radiologic contrast material except for low osmolar contrast material (LOCM) used in intrathecal, intravenous, and intra-arterial injections for a recipient with

(1) a history of previous adverse reaction to contrast material other than a sensation of heat, flushing, or a single episode of nausea or vomiting;

(2) a history of asthma or allergy;

(3) significant cardiac dysfunction, including recent or imminent cardiac decompensation, severe arrhythmias, unstable angina pectoris, recent myocardial infarction, or pulmonary hypertension;

(4) general severe debilitation; or

(5) sickle cell disease.
