(a) A facility shall establish a schedule of fees that it will charge for services. These fees must be sufficient to minimize the need for assistance from the department, but may not be unreasonable when compared to fees charged for similar services by other health care providers in the region.
(b) The schedule of fees must be reviewed at least annually and modified as necessary.
(c) The governing board of the facility shall assure that a diligent attempt is made to collect the established fees for services rendered.
(d) The governing board of a facility shall, during the first year the facility receives grant money under this program, apply for medicaid rural health facility certification; enroll with the division of public assistance as a medicaid participant; and register as a provider with health insurance carriers. The facility shall maintain the certification and enrollment during subsequent grant years, and shall reapply or reenroll if the certification or enrollment is not initially granted or is allowed to lapse.
