Notwithstanding the one percent requirement in AS 15.25.170 , for the first general election after the issuance of a reapportionment plan under Article VI of the Alaska Constitution, a nominating petition for a candidate seeking the office of state representative or state senator is sufficient if it is signed by a minimum of 50 qualified voters of the proposed nominee's respective election or senate district.
