Section 33. Copper River Delta Special Management Area for Trout

5 AAC 55.033. Copper River Delta Special Management Area for Trout

(a) The Copper River Special Management Area for Trout consists of all waters of Alaska draining into the Gulf of Alaska that are south of Miles Glacier, east of the Copper River, excluding the Clear Creek drainage, and west of Cape Suckling.

(b) Unless otherwise specified in 5 AAC 55.022 or by emergency order issued under AS 16.05.060 , only unbaited, single-hook, artificial lures may be used in the special management area described in this section.

(c) Fishing for trout in the special management area under this section is catch and release only; all trout caught must be released immediately. The department shall, to the extent practicable, manage the special management area to maintain historic size and age distributions of all trout species.
