(a) The department may allocate grant money to local government and nonprofit agencies for the purpose of administering child care financing within a specified geographic location of service as specified in this chapter.
(b) The department may set aside one percent of the child care assistance program money available for distribution to grantees for a fiscal year, or $200,000, whichever is greater, for new grantees that request financing after initial grant awards for the fiscal year have been made.
(c) A grantee
(1) shall make family eligibility determinations, initial provider participation decisions, and monitor compliance with the eligibility and participation requirements under 4 AAC 65.073;
(2) shall return residual money;
(3) may request additional money during a fiscal year.
