(a) A regular or advanced Type A certificate in effect on September 29, 2005 remains in effect until the term of the certificate expires.
(b) At the time a regular type A certificate expires, the teacher holding that certificate may renew the certificate as provided in 4 AAC 12.405. The department will issue the teacher a professional teacher certificate if the teacher meets the requirements of 4 AAC 12.405(c) .
(c) At the time an advanced type A certificate expires, the teacher holding that certificate may renew the certificate as provided in 4 AAC 12.405. The department will issue the teacher a master teacher certificate if the teacher meets the requirements of 4 AAC 12.405(d) . If the teacher does not meet the requirements of 4 AAC 12.405(d) , but does meet the requirements of 4 AAC 12.405(c) , the department will issue a professional teacher certificate.
