A teacher on sabbatical leave approved by the University of Alaska is entitled to receive membership service credit for that period of time the member is on approved sabbatical leave. Contributions must be made to the system based upon the salary the member would have earned during the school year the member was on sabbatical leave had the member continued in full-time teaching for that same school year for the same employer.
