AS 28.20.630. Definitions.
In this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires,
- (1) "judgment" means a judgment that is final by expiration without appeal of the time within which an appeal may be
taken, or final by affirmation on appeal, given by a court of a state or of the United States, upon a cause of action
arising out of the ownership, maintenance, or use of a vehicle of a type subject to registration under the laws of this
state, for damages, including damages for care and loss of services, because of bodily injury to or death of a person,
or for damages because of injury to or destruction of property, including the loss of use of property, or upon a cause
of action on an agreement of settlement for such damages;
- (2) "proof of financial responsibility" means an owner's motor vehicle liability policy that covers all vehicles owned by
the person that are subject to registration in this state, or if the person does not own a vehicle, proof required
under AS 28.20.390
