AS 18.20.130. Definitions.
In AS 18.20.010
- 18.20.130,
- (1) "department" means the Department of Health and Social Services;
- (2) "governmental unit" means the state, a municipality, or other political subdivision, or a department, division, board,
or other agency of any of them;
- (3) "hospital" means an institution or establishment, public or private, devoted primarily to providing diagnosis,
treatment, or care over a continuous period of 24 hours each day for two or more nonrelated individuals suffering from
illness, physical or mental disease, injury or deformity, or any other condition for which medical or surgical services
would be appropriate.
