AS 18.15.135. Tuberculosis Examinations.
- (a) A person shall submit to an examination to detect tuberculosis whenever, in the opinion of a state medical officer, an
examination is necessary to preserve and protect public health.
- (b) An examination under this section shall be by written order issued by a state medical officer that must specify the
name of the person to be examined and the time and place of the examination. The person to be examined shall be
personally served with a copy of the order within a reasonable period of time before the examination is to take place.
- (c) An examination under this section shall be performed by a physician who may lawfully practice in the state. The person
to be examined may, under conditions specified by the state medical officer, choose the physician who will perform the
examination.
