AS 14.25.062. Reinstatement Indebtedness.

A member who has received a refund of contributions in accordance with AS 14.25.150 forfeits corresponding credited service under this chapter. A member may elect to reinstate credited service associated with the refund by repaying the total amount of the refund. If an election is made under this section, an indebtedness to the system in the amount of the total refund shall be established. Compound interest at the rate prescribed by regulation shall be added to the reinstatement indebtedness from the date of the refund to the date of repayment or the date of retirement, whichever occurs first.
