A certified public accountant, or a partnership, limited liability company, or corporation of certified public accountants in good standing in a state, not holding a permit under AS 08.04.390 or 08.04.400 or maintaining an office in this state but engaging in the practice of public accounting in this state, shall apply to the board for a permit to practice. The board shall determine whether the applicant is eligible for the permit.
