AS 08.15.090. Definitions.
In this chapter,
- (1) “behavior analysis” means the design, implementation, and evaluation of instructional and environmental
modifications to produce socially significant improvements in human behavior, the empirical identification of functional relations between
behavior and environmental factors, and the utilization of contextual factors, motivating operations, antecedent stimuli, positive
reinforcement, and other consequences to help people develop new behaviors, increase or decrease existing behaviors, and engage in behaviors
under specific environmental conditions; “behavior analysis” does not include psychological testing, diagnosis of a mental or physical
disorder, or the practice of neuropsychology, psychotherapy, cognitive therapy, sex therapy, psychoanalysis, hypnotherapy, or long-term
counseling;
- (2) “department” means the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development.
